Filler Image Contrast-   The contrast is what the viewer first sees in an image, and once I got started on this assignment, I knew the title had to be the main focal point of the poster. I had first decided on using the same font as "Olathe Northwest Theatre Presents," but felt that it didn't stand out enough. It took awhile to find a font that I actually liked, but I finally decided on "Phosphate." After completing the title, I changed the color to white, as it stood out the most compared to black, yellow, and green, which were my color scheme choices for the project. Once I was done with the colors and text, I finished the contrast with the transparent image of the main characters placed behind the title on the yellow brick road to draw attention. Overview For this assignment, we were asked to create a typography "guide" using our names typed in a serif font. From there, we could access a typeface parts directory to help with the creation of our labels. These labels would point out the specific pieces of our names that created the font. All together, the finished product would create the overall anatomy of a typeface. What I've Learned As I was creating this project, I slowly realized how many specific parts of a word have to go into making a font. This time around on Adobe Illustrator, I learned to use both the art board and paintbrush tools. When I was about halfway through the project, I realized that since my name was a bit shorter, and I wasn't going to get all of the 10 required typefaces by only pointing out the ones on the outsides of letters.   Filler Image Logo Color Schemes Analogous Colors John Deere's logo uses the analogous colors of yellow and green. I think the company probably chose these colors because green symbolizes nature, which is what the company is for. The YMCA logo uses the analogous colors of blue and violet. I think the company probably chose these colors because they are pleasing to look at, and it sparks both imagination and it leaves the customer comfortable and dependent on the company. Warm Colors   Toblerone's logo uses the warm colors of yellow and red. Project Overview         This week's assignment in Graphic Design was to create a color wheel. Before starting, we discussed how to work with illustrator and we had the chance to walk-through the project. Demonstrated on the color wheel would be the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. The primary three, red, yellow, and blue, would stand out the most as they are the basis for all of the other colors. Then, the three secondary colors, green, violet, and orange. Lastly, the final 6 tertiary colors meet in the middle of secondary and primary colors. What I've Learned         Learning how to use Illustrator was a bit of a challenge. When we were asked to create a chase scene concept, I completely blanked.  It was difficult to think of a creative way to use a school setting, other than simply just going to my locker. After I got with my group, we slowly started to develop the story for our foot-chase. One of my group members was interested in having a "demon possessed villian." Somehow, that evolved into a "killer chases the innocent." Quickly after having our brainstorm, we scouted locations throughout ONW before realizing that starting at the woods Southeast of the school would make a great establishing shot. One of my group members was absent, so we weren't able to hear his opinion on the location on that same day. When he returned, we were able to decide on the locations of the chase. On the day of filming, we decided that I would direct, two of my other group members would act, and another would be the cinematographer. As we started on the storyboard, both my partner and I established when exactly each one of the six shots would be used. For example, an extreme close up of the locker combination leading to an over the shoulder shot of the locker's interior. It was a challenge, as close-ups were not as common as a typical medium shot. But, through this project and the previous film, I've been able to put everything together in a non-repetitive way. Brainstorming was a smooth task to be completed as my partner and I get along well. My sketching ability is not so great, compared to my partners', which is evident by taking a look at our storyboard. Although, my basic drawing was able to get our storyboard process done quickly and on to the filming portion of the project.  After we filmed, I was able to get some time editing during class.           In the beginning of the project, my group started off well, brainstorming ideas for our storyboard before assigning roles. For this project, I was able to work with the camera, and my other group members were able to be the characters in the video and also working the camera. Luckily, we worked so quickly that we were fortunate enough to start early on the filming process. After shooting all clips necessary, we moved on to the editing stage. At first, I admit, I was a bit confused getting used to the new software, but after watching the short video clip, I easily was able to start the project. Within my group, we decided on who would be doing what, which worked out smoothly, and we each were able to do what we wanted.           This project will give me a professional advantage in both the technical and collaboration fields.
