The Color Wheel

Project Overview

This week's assignment in Graphic Design was to create a color wheel. Before starting, we discussed how to work with illustrator and we had the chance to walk-through the project. Demonstrated on the color wheel would be the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. The primary three, red, yellow, and blue, would stand out the most as they are the basis for all of the other colors. Then, the three secondary colors, green, violet, and orange. Lastly, the final 6 tertiary colors meet in the middle of secondary and primary colors.

What I've Learned

Learning how to use Illustrator was a bit of a challenge. I'm new to both Macs and Adobe, so even using the computer at times can be a struggle. Although, the introduction during class was helpful for learning some tips and tricks on illustrator. From this assignment, I've learned the basics of Graphic Design, and how every detail matters if you want the final outcome to look the best it can be.

My Perspective

Overall, I think I did a good job on this project considering I've never used Adobe before. I liked the way it turned out, and the changes that I would make are minimal. If I could go back into Illustrator, I'd polish some things such as the centering of some of the shapes. Next time, I definitely need to go back and look at the details before deciding that I've finished.
