Self-Portrait Video The Adventures of Layne and Holly             For my self-portrait, I chose to include myself playing with my dog, Holly. We got Holly about five years ago when my previous dog passed away, after my cousins adopted her brother. Ever since, a lot of my free time around the house is spent with Holly, so I thought she would be the perfect way to represent myself.          Setting up the camera was a challenge because everything was soaking wet since my video was filmed between downpours. I finally found a spot eventually, but it was on an extremely thin surface where my phone would likely fall off. I made it work though, and managed to get the framing I wanted. 4th Quarter Project Reflection           This quarter, we were assigned to create a product in a group with three to four other students. Alongside the product, we had to bring all of the aspects we've learned so far in eComm to create a "Shark Tank" presentation. We started by creating a commercial, then the graphics, followed by the animation, and finally making a website to showcase our creations. We spent everyday since the moment we thought of the iPillow creating and perfecting all of our advertisements. It was difficult to get done in time toward the end of the project, since there was the pressure of quickly writing the presentation, knowing we were going first. We were also challenged toward the beginning with thinking of a product that we all liked and agreed on. Web Design using CSS and CARP Overview For our second assignment for web, we were guided by video in transforming a boring web page to one following the values of CARP. Using Dreamweaver, we were able to code and design websites centering around the poem, "Another Reason Why I Don't Keep A Gun In The House." The difference between each of the HTML was the use of CSS designer in the updated version.  Contrast- Since the contrast is typically the first thing viewer sees, the title was made to stand out from the rest of the webpage. At first, the title was only black and used a boring font that wouldn't attract a reader. So, the color was changed to a dark tan to match some of the fur on the image of the dog. Then, the font was changed to much bolder font family, and the size of the text was made bigger. Overview For this project, we were assigned to create an animated house based off of an actual home from online. Using SketchUp, we would use exact measurements and accurate textures to make our house become three-dimensional.  How it Went  I started off well, making sure that the windows lined up where they were supposed to be on the front. Although as I began to turn around the house I started to run into trouble such as glitching window panes, random lines, and things that you wouldn't typically encounter building an actual house. At the midpoint of this project, I definitely began to get bored with SketchUp, which is evident in some places on the house. Toward the end of the project, I managed to again focus on more of the details.  What I've Learned This project has enhanced my knowledge of SketchUp, which may help me in the future for whatever I end up doing. My Personality Type After taking the personality quiz, I tested to be ESFP. ESFPs are Extroverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Perceiving. They are energized by time spent with others, making decisions based on their feelings, and they prefer to be more spontaneous rather than organized. Typically welcoming and talkative, ESFPs like to charm and engage those around them. Their sense of humor is open, and they like to help others have a good time.  For the most part, I believe this test applied to my personality. The 28% of extrovert was a bit shocking to me though, since I'm only extremely social when I'm around my friends. Although I can see where some of the extroversion comes from, and that "not as social" wall comes down when I'm apart of large crowds. When in smaller groups, I'm capable of taking the role of a leader, but as the group continues to get bigger, my chance of participating gets smaller if I don't know those around me well. Ball Bounce Animation For this project, we were assigned to create three animations of a ball bouncing on the screen. The first was the typical up and down, the second was to the side, and for the third, we were able to get creative on what the ball would do in the scene. As we got started on the first animation, I quickly met challenges with the coloring of the ball and getting it to bounce smoothly. Luckily, I was able to get help from those sitting near me for a better final product. After we completed the first third of the project, we could move on to step two, the side bounce. The second bounce was probably the most difficult for me, because it required making the ball go faster heading downward, and slower on top of the ball's arc. [Filler image credits to Brady Bellini] Overview A week ago, we were assigned a web design project that showcased two of our favorite projects in the rotations that we've been through so far.  Using videos as a tool from our instructor, we followed along with their steps and created a website.   How It Went Along the way, there were plenty of technical struggles. One major road bump that my computer just couldn't work with was wrapping the text around my logo. After spending around twenty minutes working on it, and another ten from classmates, I finally surrendered. I also found the coding confusing, so I spent the majority of my time in the design mode. Other than these small frustrations, the project actually went pretty smoothly.
